Photographed is Arthur Leahy holding the banner on the left, with other members of the Cork Gay Collective. Also photographed is Dr Mary Favier (front left), a founding member of and serves on the executive committee of Doctors for Choice Ireland, an Irish organisation of doctors founded in 2002 that supports a woman’s right to choose by advocating for the provision and regulation of safe, legal abortion in Ireland.

A photograph of Ger Philpott at the Gay Sweatshop Theatre party in Trina Ni Ciardha and Frank's flat in Cork, in 1980. Trina Ni Ciardha was the daughter of Professor Tadgh O'Ciardha, President of UCC 1978-1988.
Gay Sweatshop was formed in London in 1975 and had its roots in the lunchtime theatre club "Ambience" held at the Almost Free theatre. In 1980 the london-based gay theatre group performed their play "Blood Green" in the Granary Theatre in Cork. This was one of the first events organised by the newly formed Cork Gay Collective.

A photograph of Laurie Steele and David O'Connor, Cork Gay Collective members, and two other people [names unknown] standing riverside outside the Quay Co-Op on 24 Sullivan's quay, Cork city during it's renovation prior to its opening in May 1982. The building was in poor repair and the work of renovating it was done by community activists. The Quay Co-Op housed a vegetarian cafe, food co-op, bookshop, meeting rooms and a Women's Place.

A backstage photograph of the actors from the Gay Sweatshop Cork. Pictured is a group including Arthur Leahy and possibly Owen Collins. Gay Sweatshop was formed in London in 1975 and had its roots in the lunchtime theatre club "Ambience" held at the Almost Free theatre. In 1980 the London based gay theatre group performed their play Blood Green in the Granary Theatre in Cork. This was one of the first events organised by the newly formed Cork Gay Collective.
