Description

Update on Condom Sense campaign by Clare Watson and Rachel Martin, dated 26 January, 1992. Recipients: Arthur/Stephen et al (Cork) and Angela et al (Galway).
First page discusses condom vending machines, venues, legalities, postcards, and support/donation cards. Mentions that a copy of solicitor, Joe Noonan's letter and legal info is enclosed (not included).
Second page discusses finances and trust fund. Mentions that they approached Joe McMonagle (who did Quilt Tour artwork) "in the hope that he will design a poster advertising the campaign and the venues."
Third pages discusses media:
1. issue a Press Notice to all news/features desks on Thursday, 6 February announcing the campaign and plans to install condom vending machines on St. Valentine's Day; 2. issue a Press and Photocall Notice to all news/photo desks providing details of the St. Valentine's Day Press launched; and 3. Issue a Press Release with quotes, names of local venues, at the Press Launch/Photocall on St. Valentine's Day.
Notes that Clare and Rachel have already done interviews with Hot Press (a fortnightly music and politics magazine based in Dublin, Ireland, founded in June 1977) and Gay Community News (GCN is Ireland's longest-running lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender publication; it is based in Dublin, and founded in 1988). Mentions that, "Hot Press will run a competition with a condom vending machine as a prize!" and a sponsor card will be printed in their magazine for readers to send donations to Condom Sense via Hot Press Office. Suggests about doing a radio talk show with Gerry Ryan or Gay Byrne. Also notes they are moving into Nexus Research offices, 9 North Frederick Street, Dublin 1.
