Description
An account of the resource
Cork Gay Collective (CGC) was set up in Cork in 1980 to campaign for Gay rights. The CGC was established as a radical gay group. They recognised that legal change was important, but that this wasn't enough. What was needed was a deeper challenge to society's view of sexuality and gender stereotyping and they encouraged a more open and positive attitude amongst gay people about their sexuality. The Cork Gay Collective produced a Manifesto setting out their aims and beliefs. The CGC was actively involved in a range of activities during the 1980s.
