The Other Place LGBT Community Centre opened in 1991 in a building on the corner of Augustine Street and South Main Street in Cork. The Other Place provided an important space for the LGBT community in Cork in the 1990s. It housed a café, disco, bookshop, resource centre and offices. A number of LGBT projects operated in the Other Place including the Lesbian Health Project and the Gay Men's Health Project.
