A photograph of Kate Moynihan, LGBTQ+ activist and CEO of Lesbian and Bisexual women in Cork (LINC) speaking at the Aidan Moffitt and Michael Snee Vigil held in Bishop Lucey Park in Cork City on the 18th of April 2022. Kate Moynahan has been an activist for LGBT rights since she came out in the early ’80s. She has been the CEO of LINC since 2013 but has been involved with the service since 2005. LINC is an organisation committed to informing and impacting upon social inclusion policy and practice and providing peer support services to Cork lesbian and bisexual womens (trans and non-binary inclusive) community.
Aidan Moffitt and Michael Snee were two gay men who were murdered in County Sligo on 18 April 2022. In October 2023 Yousef Palani was sentenced to life in prison for their murders. The vigil was organised by Gay Project, LINC and Cork Pride.
