Vigil held in Bishop Lucey Park, also known as The Peace Park, in Cork City on 18 April,l 2022 in response to the deaths of two gay men in Sligo. Aiden Moffitt and Michael Snee were two gay men who were murdered. In October 2023 Yousef Palani was sentenced to life in prison for the murders. Cork City Councilor and former Lord Mayor John Buttimer and partner Don Crowley as well as Jerry Buttimer, senator, former Teachta Dála (TD) for the Cork South-Central constituency, and future Cathaoirleach of Seanad Éireann. The vigil was organised by Gay Project, LINC and Cork Pride.
