Newspaper article from Cork Examiner dated [in handwriting] as 15 April 1985 and entitled "Signs AIDS is spreading". Notes the world's first 3-day conference on AIDS begins in Atlanta, Georgia, USA today, with 2,000 scientists from 30 countries registered to attend and, according to Dr Gary Noble, over 700 abstracts on AIDS investigations were submitted to the conference. Mentions how the virus was once called "The Gay Plague", recent investigations into "saliva" as the source of viral transmission, and a study from Zaire, Africa indicating an increased risk of infection for cohabitants of the same household.
