PIAA (Positively Irish Action on AIDS) 19-page, annual report, dated 1993 and 1994. Addressed 21 Old Ford Road, London E2 9PL (see back cover).
Page 2 lists staff team (photograph included), committee members and management committee. Page 3 is entitled "Chair's Report" by Dr Michael Farrell. Acknowledges Siobhan O'Riordan (Director of PIAA) who "played an active part in the Pan-London HIV/AIDS Providers Consortium and is congratulated for her continued commitment and burning vision which has been crucial to the development of PIAA." Also credits the collaborative work of the other PIAA staff members: Luke Tierney, Therese Barrett, Oonagh O'Brien, Maria Onoufriou and Angie Gold. Page 4 is entitled "Director's Report" by Siobhan O'Riordan. Page 5 is entitled "Why an Irish HIV Organisation?" and accompanied below with two bar chart graphs: first graph compares the epidemiology of HIV/AIDS in Ireland and the UK between "Sex between Men" and "Injecting Drug Use"; second graph compares AIDS diagnosis of women between Ireland and the UK. Subheadings read, "The Irish in Britain", "A Different Epidemiology" and "What Do We Do?" Page 6 is entitled "Client Services at PIAA". Page 7 is entitled "A selection of comments made by clients about the benefits of an Irish Organisation." Page 8 refers to "The Griffin Project" and "CARA Irish Housing Association". Page 9 is entitled "Description of Services" and mentions a positive comment by Cork AIDS Alliance about PIAA. Page 10 covers "Projects for 93/94" and refers to "HIV Prevention Programme for Irish Migrants" and "Accommodation Project". Page 11 refers to "Drugs and Irish Mobility Project". Page 12 is entitled "Care & Support for Irish People". Page 13 is entitled "Action-Research at PIAA". Page 14 is entitled "An International Solidarity Network". Page 15 is entitled "Evaluating Our Work" and provides bar chart graphs of service users evaluation statistics. Page 16 is entitled "AIDS and the Irish Community" by Tim O'Keeffe, one of the founders of PIAA. O'Keeffe notes that: "Six years ago when PIAA was founded there was very little talk about an Irish problem with AIDS." Concludes on page 17. Page 18 refers to financial statements. Page 19 is acknowledgements.
