Press Release for Irish Quilt Tour. For Immediate Release. Dated: 29 April, 1991 and entitled "Irish Quilt Tour Wraps Up".
First page mentions the distribution of £20,000 to various projects responding to the needs of people living with HIV or AIDS. Notes that "The Irish Quilt Tour was a major AIDS awareness event which took place in six cities of Ireland, north and south, during January and February of this year. States that the Tour itself cost £40,000, but £60,000 had been raised through major fundraising efforts. Also mentions the raising of £35,000 by a group of voluntary AIDS organisations in Belfast, Cork, Derry, Dublin, Galway and Limerick, last September.
Second page mentions President Elect Mary Robinson attended the first fundraising event and the project was endorsed by celebrities such as Richard Harris and Daniel Day Lewis. Also notes the significant voluntary work contributed by actress Judy Geeson for the duration of her stay in Ireland.
