Description
Munster LCGN (Lesbian & Gay Community News) was a four page supplement to the Irish GCN (Gay Community News) newspaper. It was produced in The Other Place LGBT Resource Centre in Cork in the 1990s. It was a Wrap Around, placed on the outside, of GCN in Munster and was an insert in the newspaper in the rest of the country.
The July 1993 LGCN issue contains articles about: Corks 1993 Pride March, a congratulations to Minister for Justice Marie Geoghegan Quinn on handling homosexual law reform, a coming out story from Mike Joyce, a recount of a speech by Mary Daly, an article on abuse in lesbian relationships, the 1 year anniversary of The Forum in Limerick, a report from Waterford Assembly's June monthly meeting, an open meeting with GCN to discuss the Munsters supplement of LGCN.
It also includes adverts from the Quay Co-op restaurant, Waterstones bookshop, Amazonia BnB, AIDS Alliance Cork, The Other Place, Lesbian and Gay Film Festival, Mont Bretia BnB, Art Hive, and the Women's Disco.
