Title
Anti Criminal Justice Bill March Cork 1984 Stop The Criminal Justice Bill Banner Photo
Description
A photograph of protesters, including Arthur Leahy, Casey and Adi Roche, holding a "Stop The Criminal Justice Bill" banner during the Anti Criminal Justice Bill march in Cork city, 1984. The Criminal Justice Bill was a proposed legislation which would have given An Garda Síochána and the courts a lot of power. It stemmed from attempting to clamp down on Republican groups. Many people felt it would undermine their civil rights and opposed it.
