A photograph of Lupita Sequeira, a Nicaraguan Lesbian Sandinista activist, with Arthur Leahy on a speaking tour in Cork in 1991. The Sandinista National Liberation Front (members were called Sandinistas) were a Nicaraguan group fighting against the dictatorship in Nicaragua. In 1979, they overthrew the dictatorship that had lasted for 46 years. They then ruled Nicaragua from 1979 till 1990. This image demonstrates the internationalism of the Quay Co-op and the Cork Gay Collective.
