Discusses the discrimination, fear and ignorance surrounding AIDS, how "AIDS is the modern day leprosy" and "AIDS sufferers today are like lepers of the ancient world" because they are treated like "outcasts". Compares "AIDS sufferers" with "Cancer sufferers [who] were turned from their homes, isolated and abandoned" at the beginning of the century. Also provides information about the transmission of HIV and how "our fear of the disease has become hysterical." Encourages readers to "[g]et rid of the hysteria, take away the fear, show compassion to suffering everywhere." Final page is an advertisement for Kingston cigarettes, unrelated to the article.
