The Frontliner's Newsletter entitled "The Frontline" No. 1, dated October 1989. Main cover line reads "Minister for Health Introduces Oops, Sorry, Announces New Program To Combat HIV-AIDS". Page 1 discusses the direction and ethos of Frontliners. Page 2 is entitled "Understanding Your Medical Condition". Page 3 is entitled "One Step Forward". Subheading and discusses an announcement by the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases about Zidovudine, commonly called AZT. Pages 4 to 9 discuss "HIV Treatment Strategy". Page 10 provides listings of service providers. Page 11 contains a satirical piece about AIDS figures October 1989. Criticises the Minister for Health and Minister for Education for the "amazing help" in spreading the virus because they have "ensured us [HIV/AIDS] that we can grow and grow because YOU have no AIDS budget, no on going Education programme, and where condoms are not freely available and where you will have to travel for miles and miles if you want clean needles. And guess what in five years time there will be 12,000 of us." Also contains an AIDS Helpline (Dublin) Volunteer Training Course.
